|A Keiki's DreamMaking dreams come true for Maui's children in crisis.
What We Do
Children, ages 4-14 years old, are referred for facing a crisis of any nature - abuse, homelessness, hopelessness, neglect, major loss, dysfunctional living situation, poverty, etc. as well as major medical reasons. Each keiki must be referred by a qualified service provider or professional such as Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Maui, Ke Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Center, Maui Family Support Services, pediatricians, school counselors or many others.
Please see our Referral Form for complete information.
These are some dreams that we have made come
true for our keiki:
- Snorkeling, whale watching or other
- Rides on helicopter, limousine or even
a big truck on a bumpy road
- Playing endless games at the Fun Factory
- Enjoying a pool, bowling or miniature
- Staying at a popular resort
- Experiencing being a firefighter, DJ
or being in the army for a day
The dreams provide a positive and lasting influence in each Keiki's life. The experience shows them that gook things do happen and that they are worthy to have these positive encounters in their lives. It also encourages them to "dare to dream."
In short, a Keiki's Dream Program gives children in crisis hope and happiness at the time that they need it the most. It is something that they can hold on to and build resiliency to face the challenges in their lives.
